Battlestar Galactica
Wow! The season premiere was intense. The episode’s parallel between the US and Israeli occupations in the Middle East is uncomfortably apparent. I think they are taking risks and in the process forcing viewers to question simplistic ideas of good and evil, and how unquestioned acceptance of the dominant rhetoric that seeks to define what is morally “right” relate to our own notions of freedom, military action and terrorism. It is reassuring to see these points raised by mainstream pop culture.
