Get Out the Vote

I love election day. There is so much excitement in the air and the hope, the possibility of change in this country is always uplifting to me. For nearly every election that I’ve voted in, that hope has been destroyed by a big fat elephant that symbolizes the Republican party and their misguided policies. Well, this year could be different. I’ll be happy to bid fair-well to the likes of Rick Santorum and his politics of hate and ignorance. Perhaps if he spent more time bettering the lives of Pennsylvanians and less time with his head up President Bush’s ass “protecting” marriage and destroying the Middle East he would be keeping his job today. Nothing pleases me more than seeing a powerful politician with their sights set on even more power (in Santorum’s case a presidential bid) get sent home by the voters because, quite frankly, they fucked up. It shows that democracy in this country can work every now and then.
