My life as I know it today
Don’t you just hate it when your daily life becomes monotonous and structured? I feel like I need to get out of the box that I have made for myself and diversify my activities. The problem is I have this annoying thing called a job. You know, the Monday through Friday type. So my typical day goes something like this.
1. Wake up at 6:45 to the alarms of the fellow I happen to share my bed with.
2. Try to ignore the lights and racket that he generates as he gets ready for work.
3. Hit snooze until about 7:25.
4. Run around like a crazy person trying to get to work by 8 (although I know I won’t)
5. Work 8-5
6. Drive home, make (or go out for) dinner.
7. Try to motivate myself to work on my thesis (sometimes I win and sometimes the lazy procrastinator wins in which case it’s time for a movie)
8. Go to bed.
9. Start again with #1
I blame our capitalist consumer society that drives us into these mindless work schedules that suck all the spontaneous pleasure from life. How do you add this pleasure back?
